My name is Mark Smith. I reside, and grew up, in Saugerties, New
York. I have been married for 20 years and have two children, ages 14
and 16. I come from a family of teachers—my father taught the same subject
at the same school for 40 years before he retired.
I graduated from Trinity International University with a BA in
Elementary Education in 1991. After that, I taught Grade 4 in a public
school for a period, then taught in a school for special needs children.
Fifteen years ago, my wife, son, and I returned to New York. For the past
twelve years, I have been teaching here at Faith Christian Academy. I
currently teach Grade 5 reading, math, and science. I also teach Grade 6
math and science.
I thank Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior, for the opportunity to work with
many wonderful Christian teachers and students. I also appreciate the
freedom to discuss the Lord while teaching as He is the reason behind all
that is.
