Songs & Poems
We love to recite poems, sing and move in Pre-K!
This page will feature some of the songs and poems we've done together.
Snow Ball - Poem
I made a little snowball as perfect as could be.
I thought I'd keep it as a pet and let it sleep with me.
I made it some pajamas and a pillow for its head.
Then last night it ran away, but first it wet the bed!
Snow - Poem
The snow fell softly all the night.
It made a blanket soft and white.
It covered houses, flowers and ground,
But it didn't make a single sound.
Chubby Snowman (song, but I'm not sure of tune; I follow the children singing)
A chubby, chubby snowman
had a carrot nose
Along came a bunny
and what do you suppose?
That hungry little bunny
was looking for his lunch
(gasp)
He ate the snowman's carrot nose
nibble, nibble, CRUNCH!
Winter Flurries (Tune: "Frere Jacques")
See the snowflakes - see the snowflakes
Floating down - floating down
Oh, so very slowly - oh, so very slowly
To the ground - to the ground
See the snowflakes - see the snowflakes
Twirling 'round - twirling 'round
Blowing in the wind - blowing in the wind
To the ground - to the ground
We are thankful (Tune: "Frere Jacques")
We are thankful - we are thankful
For our families - for our families **
On Thanksgiving day - on Thanksgiving day
You will hear us say - you will hear us say
Thank you God - Thank you God
++ We use this line for all the things we are thankful for: friends, ice cream, jelly beans, pets, etc.
The Turkey
The turkey is a funny bird
His head goes wobble, wobble
All he says is just one word
"Gobble, gobble, gobble!"
Red, Yellow, Green and Brown (Tune: "London Bridge")
Red and yellow green and brown
green and brown, green and brown
Red and yellow green and brown
Leaves are falling to the ground.
We will pile them up so high
up so high, up so high
We will pile them up so high
Then we'll jump in - you and I!
Pumpkin, Pumpkin (Poem)
Pumpkin, pumpkin on the ground
How'd you get so big and round?
Once you were a seed so small.
Now you are a great big ball.
Pumpkin pumpkin on the ground
How'd you get so big and round?
Fall is Here (Poem)
Summer is gone.
Wind has come.
Fall is here for everyone.
Trees (Poem)
Trees do just as they please.
I can't throw papers on the ground.
But they throw their leaves all around.
Trees do just as they please!
Days of the week song (Tune: Famer in the Dell)
There are seven days in the week
There are seven days in the week
Hi-ho the derry-o
There are seven days in the week
There's Sunday, Monday, Tuesday
There's Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
Saturday's the last day.
There are seven days in the week.
We Use Five Senses (Tune: "B-I-N-G-O")
We use five senses every day to help us learn and play!
Touch, see, hear, smell, taste (3x)
We use them every day!
