The word SHIFT means "to exchange for or replace by another, to change position or direction of". As a church, we want to continually help men shift from self-centered to God-centered lives. Our ministry verse sums up this biblical application... "Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing (shifting) the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. (Romans 12:2 NLT)
About SHIFT men's ministry:
Whenever I travel to Raleigh, NC I am sure to visit Vic and Penny Collazo, who are like parents to me and Pastor Cathleen. Their investment in our lives over 30 years ago has profoundly impacted who we are today. I was a foolish, young, single man who had just come to Christ. Vic was the Dad I needed and a mentor who loved me unconditionally. He taught me many life lessons by how he lived his life in front of me, as an imperfect yet godly, Christ-centered man. Because of that relationship, I was able to "shift" into God's purpose for my life, and ultimately my marriage, church, and work. I am the man I am today because of godly men like Vic then, and Dr. Ed Jones now, investing in my life in the context of a church community. That is what SHIFT is all about.
We will endeavor to equip men to run TO the issues of their lives and our culture and not run away from them. That's what shifting into a daily Christ-centered life is all about. Our prayer is that we, as men, will grow in serving Christ, His church and His world. May God receive all the glory!

Our Mission as a ministry: Help men SHIFT into God's purpose for their lives, family, church, and work.
Our Vision as a ministry: We will accomplish our mission in three ways: First, we SEEK men who, as we were. are disconnected and purposeless. We do this through men-friendly engagement events. Second, we will CONSTRUCT our lives as men around Christ-centered friendships, including men's small groups, Gear Groups, Transform Discipleship, and an annual men's Tune Up Retreat. Finally, we will help to LAUNCH our lives into our God-given ministry and mission while at the same time helping to keep our relationships at home a priority.
Our values as a ministry:
acrifice and service
ealthy relationships with God, His Church, and His world.
